A-Z » Back projection

Definition

i) Projecting a scene onto the back drop of a set to give the illusion of a particular location (eg. a garden beyond French windows)
ii) A method of staging using a light set on a backstage track to project a shadow onto cotton gauze downstage, so that the shadow of the object increased as the light moved further back from the object.
